Join us on August 18 at 3pm EST for our next Third Thursday live Twitter Chat. This round, we’ll be talking about how to prepare for Indie Author Day on October 8. Representatives from two Indie Author Day partners — Liz Mays of Pressbooks and K.S. Brooks of Indies Unlimited — will join us, along with host Porter Anderson to answer questions about the big day. Anyone can chime in and follow our conversation anytime using the hashtag #SELFeChat.
About Indie Author Day
During the inaugural Indie Author Day on October 8, 2016, libraries from all across North America will host their own local author events with the support of the Indie Author Day team. In addition to these local programs, each library’s indie community will come together for an hour-long digital gathering at 2 pm EST, featuring Q&A with writers, agents and other industry leaders. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity for libraries and authors to connect on both local and global levels!
About the Partners
Pressbooks and Indies Unlimited are part of over 20 Indie Author Day partners. Check out the full list here.
Pressbooks is simple book publishing tool. Authors can write their own books on Pressbooks’ software, or import their manuscripts, choose a book design theme and export into all the file formats needed to publish their books, including MOBI, ePub, PDF and more exotic XML formats. Pressbooks also partners with BiblioBoard for Pressbooks Public, which allows libraries to offer e-book-publishing services to their local authors.
Indies Unlimited was named one of the top six blogs for authors by Publishers Weekly. They offer advice and insight to authors in the form of tutorials, weekly writing challenges, newsletters and more.
